Former MNS Officers Withdraw Their Complaints from Supreme Court
Baku / 08/01/19 / Turan: Convicted after the liquidation of the Ministry of National Security (MNS), its high-ranking officers, despite filing a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court, began to withdraw their complaints.
On August 1, it became known that the complaint was withdrawn by the former head of the MNS Anti-Terrorism Center, Elchin Guliyev. At the beginning of the meeting in the Supreme Court, the judge announced that Guliyev sent a letter in which he announced the withdrawal of the complaint, Radio Azadlig reports.
Today, at another trial in the Supreme Court, it became known that five more officers recalled the complaints: former head of the department for combating transnational crime of the National Security Ministry Subahir Gurbanov, his deputy Fizuli Aliyev, former head of the National Security Ministry Monitoring Center Teymur Guliyev, and former operatives Natig Aliyev and Zaur Mamedov.
Earlier, the complaint was withdrawn by the former head of the Transport and Energy Security Directorate, Akif Chovdarov. However, he later re-appealed to the Supreme Court and his case is currently pending before the highest court.
Meanwhile, many victims in these cases complain that they were not compensated for material damage. So, one of them - Nariman Aliyev in the Supreme Court today demanded the satisfaction of a civil claim for damages of 130,000 manat.
According to the materials of the case, the MNS workers illegally detained entrepreneurs and extorted large sums.
Some victims of civil claims were granted. However, the court dismissed the claim of Nariman Aliyev.
In October 2015, after the removal of Eldar Mahmudov from the post of head of the Ministry of National Security, the agency was abolished, and 21 of his employees were arrested. -06D-
