The flag of Azerbaijan was hoisted in the Olympic Village in Sochi. At the 22nd Olympic Winter Games to be start on February 7 Azerbaijn will be represented by four athletes in two sports. Cedric Notts played for Azerbaijan at the previous Olympics in Vancouver, but did not win. He failed to finish in slalom , and at the giant slalom came to finish the 79th .
The Russians Julia Zlobina and Alexei Sitnikov will also perform in Sochi under Azerbaijan's flag on the figure skating competitions.
