Green Patrol Protects Animals and Environment

Baku / 07.10.19 / Turan: The Public Alliance for the Protection of the Living World announced the launch of the Green Patrol project on October 1. Its goal is to consolidate the efforts of the country's public to protect the cleanliness and safety of the environment, and the life of animals and plants.

The Green Patrol project will be carried out together with state institutions in the field of education, ecology, internal affairs and other departments.

The Alliance prepared and sent to the district executive authorities the text of the Memorandum of Cooperation, which was positively answered by the information agencies of Mingachevir, Agdash and Gobustan. Also, some high schools and universities have indicated to cooperate with the Alliance.

The project will be completed by about 1,600 volunteers on Facebook. Upon receiving a signal, they will send information to the Project Centers created in each region of the country. From there, the volunteers will travel to the scene to take action, the Alliance chairwoman Mansura Rasulzadeh told Turan.

During the implementation of the project, seminars will be held, films will be shown, the population, schoolchildren and students will learn the rules of communication with animals. Work will last until December 1, 2019. The project is funded by the State Fund for NGO Support.

"We would like to extend our project for a year, we are looking for funding for this," added Rasulzadeh. During the organization of the project, she had to deal with red tape and passivity of local authorities and the Ministry of Education. "I had to turn to Mehriban Aliyeva for help," said the head of the Alliance. -0-
