Head of PPFA city organization was arrested in Masalli
Baku/14.09.22/Turan: Head of the Masalli city organization of the Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) Mehdi Asadov was arrested administratively for 30 days.
As reported to the Turan news agency in the PPFA, Asadov was detained by the police on September 13 at his home. First, they found and seized a mobile phone, and then forcibly put him in a car and took it to the district police department.
"A few hours later it became known that the district court sentenced him to 30 days of arrest, finding him guilty under Article 535.1 (disobeying the lawful demands of the police) of the Code of Administrative Misconduct," the PPFA noted.
Asadov's associates believe that the oppositionist is being persecuted on a far-fetched charge, and the real reason for his arrest is his critical publications in social networks.
