Health of Avaz Zeynalli deteriorates
Institute for Reporters Freedom and Safety (IRFS) has received information about the deterioration of the health of the arrested editor of "Khural" newspaper, Avaz Zeynalli, according to the director of this newspaper, Nizami Hasanov.
He said that medical and sanitary department of the Penitentiary Service, examined Zeynalli and diagnosed "chronic hepato-holestit, gematomegaleya, crystallization of salts in the kidneys, osteochondrosis of spine, radiculitis, neuralgia, sobatropic rhinitis."
IRFS called on the authorities to immediately provide medical assistance to Zeynalli, and if necessary, to create the conditions for treatment outside prison.
* Zeynalli was arrested in October 2011 on the basis of complaints of the deputy Gular Ahmedova, who stated that Zeynalli extorted a bribe.
Subsequently against Zeynalli were charged with tax evasion and enforcement of judgments. Court in his case continues.—06D--
