Heavy rains and mudslides continue to cause damage to mountainous and foothill regions of Azerbaijan
Baku/19.06.23/Turan: Last Sunday, heavy rains and hail again covered many mountainous and foothill regions of the country.
Heavy rainfall caused mudslides and washed out roads. A lot of damage has been done to orchards and other farmland. Large hail damaged the roofs of houses and outbuildings, smashed car windows. The disaster affected the region of the Greater Caucasus (Sheki, Gabala, Ismaiilly, Shamakhi, Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz) and the Lesser Caucasus (Dashkesan, Gedabey), mountainous and low-lying parts of Karabakh.
According to forecasters, precipitation in these areas will last through June 19. -0-
