Heavy rains caused mudflows in mountain rivers
Baku/23.09.21/Turan: Heavy rains in the regions of the country caused mudflows and floods in mountain rivers.
According to the National Hydrometeorological Service of the Ministry of Ecology, rains with thunderstorms fell in the mountainous and foothill regions in the north, north-west and south of the country. The most intense rains were in the Balaken and Zagatala regions.
For 13:00, mudflows and floods were observed on the Balakenchay (Balaken), Katekhchay and Talachay (Zagatala) rivers.
According to weather forecasters, rain with thunderstorms will continue in regions of the country on September 25.
In some places, precipitation will be of a torrential nature, there is a likelihood of hail. The water content in the rivers will increase, and some mountain rivers are expected to have short-term floods and mudflows.
West wind in some places will increase up to 18-23 m/s.
Baku and Absheron will be mostly rainless. On September 24, in the afternoon, the northwest wind is expected to increase up to 15-20 m/s. — 06D-
