High-speed vessel built for Azerbaijani oilmen in Australia

The ceremony of putting into operation of the vessel named after the USSR People’s Artist, singer Muslim Magomayev took place yesterday.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, his wife Mehriban Aliyeva and Muslim Magomayev’s widow, USSR People’s Artist Tamara Sinyavskaya took part at the ceremony.

Rauf Veliyev, chairman of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, has informed President that length of the high-speed passenger vessel Muslim Magomayev is 70 meters, width- 16 meters and height is 6 meters.

The vessel will be handed over to the oilmen working offshore and will be used to transport up to 150 oilmen to the oil and gas platforms on the Caspian Sea. Depending on the weather conditions (wind speed 17 meters/second and wave height up to 4 meters), the vessel will move with a speed of 38 bend. The current vessels, which are used to transport oilmen to the Neft Dashlary (Oil Rocks) field, move with a speed up to 18 bend. This means that time of shift will be significantly reduced.

* Muslim Magomayev vessel was built at the Australian ship-building plant Incat-Tasmania. Construction of the vessel took one year. After completion of all offshore tests on October 4, 2014, Muslim Magomayev vessel headed towards Baku. Private company Caspian Marine Services will be involved in operation of the vessel on the Caspian Sea on the basis of a long-term alliance with the Azerbaijani Caspian Shipping Company.

Caspian Marine Services Ltd was registered in Baku and started to work in the Caspian Sea since January 201. The company is involved in repair and technical inspection of the vessels in the Caspian Sea.

On September 15, 2014 at the shipyard Incat Tasmania, Tasmania, Australia, there was a ceremony of christening a catamaran to deliver crews, Fast Crew Boat type, Building No 074. The christening ceremony was attended by representatives of the customer - Caspian Marine Services, 12 crew members, citizens of Azerbaijan, and representatives of the shipyard.

The Godmother was 10-year-old Clifford Hilary, granddaughter of Incat Company's Chairman, Clifford Robert, who cut the ribbon and broke a bottle of champagne.

On October 4, 2014 the Muslim Magomayev after the completion of all marine tests started a voyage to Baku. The vessel will be operated in the Caspian Sea by the private company Caspian Marine Services based on a long-term alliance with Azerbaijan Caspian Sea Shipping Company.—0—
