Hilal Mamedov refuses a medical examination
On July 12, Hilal Mamedov ,the arrested human rights activist and editor of the newspaper "Tolyshi Sado", was sent to the National Drug Dispensary for examination for the presence of drug in his blood and urine, according to the Institute for Peace and Democracy (IPD.)
Hilal Mamedov , who suffers from asthma, was taken to the Dispensary in a stuffy wagon with twenty drug addicts and patients with tuberculosis, what is itself a torture.
According to the report, Hilal Mamedov categorically rejected such an examination.
"I rejected the medical examination because I perceive this procedure as a criminal act aimed at the destruction of my personality, weakening my health, and an attempt on my life," IPD quoted Mamedov.
According to the same source, the fear Hilal Mamedov is absolutely justified. As a former chairman of the Committee to Protect the rights of Novruzali Mamedov, he is aware of the circumstances of death of Novruzali Mamedov in the prison hospital.
In this regard, the IMD has sent appeals to international human rights organizations, deputies of European Parliament with request to prevent the killing of the imprisoned human rights activist Hilal Mamedov.
Hilal Mamedov was arrested on false charges of possession drugs, and later was accused of spying for Iran. The real reason for his arrest was his social activity and, in particular, placing on Youtube a video clip "Goodbye, go away" which was used by the opposition demanding the resignation of the authorities in Russia and Azerbaijan. -0-
