How many people have been arrested in Seyudlu?
Baku/26.06.23/Turan: Arrests continued among local residents in the village of Seyudlu in the days following the 20 June protest.
According to the local media and social networks, Gabil Ismayilov, the owner of the printing plant where the posters and banners of the protesters were made, was prosecuted. The court chose a preventive measure against him in the form of arrest for a period of 3 months. At the same time, he was charged under Article 234.4.3 (drug trafficking on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
Also, the creator of the group of Seyudlu residents in Watsapp "Etibar Jabbarov, which included 405 users, was arrested.
Jabbarov had arrived in Seyudlu on the eve of the events, according to local residents.
Shokhrat Askerov, a resident of the village, had been detained four days earlier.
According to his relatives, Askerov went out to buy medicine for his child and did not return.
His family was told by the Gedabey police that Askerov had been sent to Baku, but they refused to say in which agency he was detained.
According to information from social media there are more detainees. However, no names of these persons are provided.
At the same time, the Interior Ministry does not provide any reports on the arrests, nor comment on media information about the detainees.
On June 20, Seyudlu residents staged a protest rally alleging pollution by a nearby gold mine. The police violently dispersed the rally, injuring 10 people. In the process, five people were detained and administratively arrested for 20 days. Another elderly resident was fined for 1500 manats.
