Baku/19.04.18/Turan: Human rights activist, Taleh Hasmammadov, was detained on April 19 in the region of Goychay, human rights activist Oktay Gulaliyev told Turan. According to him, at around 11:00 am the police stopped a car he was driving under the pretext of having a fine. He was brought to the police station, where he was forced to sign under the protocol on resistance to police and hooliganism.

Gulaliyev did not exclude the possibility of instituting criminal proceedings against him.

According to the Interior Ministry, the police stopped a BMW car, which violated traffic rules. During the inspection it turned out that his car was seized and the car was sent to the parking lot. Hasmamedov, having come to the office of the chief of the local traffic police, demanded to give back the car. He was told that it was necessary to pay a fine. However, Hasmamedov "continued aggressive and hooligan actions, caused bodily injuries to three police officers, one of whom was hospitalized," the Interior Ministry assures.

Hasmamedov was detained, in fact an investigation is being conducted by the Goychay district police. Hasmamedov was twice tried on charges of hooliganism in 2011 and 2015, both times a year later was pardoned.

Human rights organizations recognized him as a political prisoner.

The mother of activist, Gulbut Hasmamedova, stated that her son suffers from a vertebral hernia and could not resist the police, let alone inflict physical harm on them. -06D-
