Baku/06.01.23/Turan: A six-year-old boy died of measles in Sheki, the Association for the Management of Territorial Medical Units (TƏBIB) reported. Two young residents of the village of Saryja, brothers, had a cough, high fever, lethargy, sweating at the end of December.
On January 3, at 3:16 p.m., the children were taken to the Sheki Central District Hospital. The health of one of them was serious, he was placed in the department of infectious diseases. On January 5, at about 4 p.m., the child's health aggravated and he was transferred to the intensive care unit.
He was diagnosed with pneumonia and complicated measles, and the boy was connected to an artificial respiration machine. Despite the efforts of doctors on January 6 in the morning, at about 05.50 the child died of pulmonary heart failure.
The brother of the deceased, who was also taken to the hospital on January 3 in a moderate condition, was first taken home by his parents, refusing treatment at a medical facility.
However, later they brought the child back to the hospital and the boy was evacuated by an ambulance team to a medical facility in Baku in a moderate condition. The report also claims that the head of the Saryja village medical center repeatedly recommended that parents vaccinate their children against measles, but they refused vaccination and this was documented in writing.
It should be noted that the number of measles cases has increased in Azerbaijan recently. Although official statistics of cases are not made public, according to unofficial data, several hundred people are infected. Earlier, at least five people died from measles.-03B06-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property.
