The number of registered candidates for the presidency of Azerbaijan has reached 3
Baku/06.01.24/Turan: On January 6, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan registered two candidates – Zahid Oruj and Razi Nurullayev – as candidates for the country’s presidency in the early presidential elections.
Oruj is the head of the Center for Social Research and chairman of the parliamentary committee on human rights. Nurullayev is the head of the National Front party and a member of parliament.
Previously, the current head of state Ilham Aliyev was registered as a presidential candidate.
A total of 17 presidential candidates were nominated.
The deadline for candidates to submit documents with 40 thousand voter signatures for registration expires at 18.00 on January 8.
Early presidential elections are scheduled for February 7. The Popular Front parties, Musavat and a number of other opposition structures refused to participate in the elections. —03В06-

После того как способные, мыслящие потенциальные кандидаты находятся в тюрьме, если победитель известен уже до начала выборов, зачем этот фарс с кандидатами? Уже никто не верит ни в какую демократию или демократические выборы в Азербайджане. И сколько раз одному и тому же человеку можно баллотироваться в президенты? Сколько можно злоупотреблять своим положением и менять Конституцию под жадный аппетит своей семьи?
