Investigation in Elchin Ismayilli�s Case Finishes
Baku / 01.08.17 / Turan: Materials on the journalist Elchin Ismayilli"s case are completed and sent to court, the lawyer Elchin Sadigov said. The Prosecutor General's Office informed that the investigation was completed. The journalist was charged with several articles of the Criminal Code: 182 (extortion by threats), 308 (abuse of office), and 311 (bribery).
In the coming days, the lawyers will get acquainted with the materials of the criminal case, after which the case will be sent to the court.
The independent journalist Elchin Ismayilli, who was living in the town of Ismayilli, was detained by the State Security Service on February 17 when he received 1,000 manat from an employee of the regional department of tourism and culture. The official claimed that he gave a bribe, which the journalist had extorted from him, and Ismayilli explained that he had asked for a debt. -0-
