Jahangir Hajiyev prepares his stretegiyu in court - lawyer

 On 15 August, the  Serious Crimes Court begins trial  in the casae of the former head of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Jangir Hajiyev. In  an interview with Turan the lawyer Agil Lahij said that  he discusses with his client "strategy" in the upcoming trial. Hajiyev was arrested on December 5, 2015 on charges under Articles 179 (embezzlement) and 308 of the Criminal Code (abuse of power.) "I have already said that the issuance of credit, in any case can not be resolved within the framework of a criminal charge," said the lawyer.

Responding  the  question about the search of the  banker wife Zamira Hajiyeva, the lawyer said that the idea for her arrest filed  the First Deputy Prosecutor General Rustam Usubov. In the media there was  an information that Zamira Hajiyeva, without providing the documents took from the International Bank a  credit card, on which in various post-terminals  she withdrew $18 million.

According to the lawyer, the decision of Narimanov Court in respect of Zamira Hajiyeva  was taken  secretly. "Neither Hajiyeva, nor her lawyer and her family were  informed  about the decision of the court.

While that Zamira Hajiyeva has a lawyer, the state appointed her his, who does not even appealed. On the decision of the court, we learned on June 17 from the media, and then appealed," he said.

The lawyer noted that the defense is going to defend the rights of Hajiyeva up to the European Court. As for the  summon of  Zamira Hajiyeva to the  court, "it does not have such a desire," said the lawyer.

"The  bias against her  gives grounds that she does not return to Azerbaijan, and  she is represented in court by her lawyer," said Lahij. -03B04-
