Journalist is threatened with death
Nakhchivan correspondent of the Azerbaijani Service of "Radio Liberty", Yafez Akramoglu, was threatened through the social network Facebook.
Threats come from the group "Who is Yafez Akramoglu?" , which includes the users named Rauf Aliyev Kengerli, Gamlo Qurban Nakhchivanlil İlkin Jalilov, Metin Azeril Seyyar Mammadov, Elvin Aliyev , Tural Seferovl and Gamlo Gurbanov.
They accuse the journalist of blackening the leadership of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), and of the publication of critical articles about Nakhchivan.
" Death for him! he must be eliminated in order to remove this stain from Nakhchivan," writes Gamlo Qurban Nakhchivanli.
Further, he wrote that the action begins. "We give him 10 days. He either should state publicly that he will not blacken Nakhchivan, or we should launch the plan to eliminate him," writes the user.
Akramoglu has been previously subjected to pressure and threats in Nakhchivan. In 2011 he was deported from the NAR to Iran.
Akramoglu said he repeatedly complained to law enforcement authorities, but in vain.
Now he intends to file with his lawyer another complaint, and sue the prosecutor's office and the police for their inaction on previous appeals.—03B06--
