Judge and His Assistant Arrested in Zagatala Region
Baku / 16.03.19 / Turan: A judge of the Zagatala District Court Arif Ismayilov and his assistant Shahid Allahverdiyev were arrested on charges of receiving a bribe. This is stated in a joint report of the Judicial-Legal Council (JLC) and the Prosecutor General's Office.
Violations of the law by this judge were revealed by the JLC. His powers were terminated, and the case was sent to the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the General Prosecutor"s Office.
In the course of the criminal case, Ismayilov was charged under Article 311.1 (Receiving a bribe), and Allahverdiyev was charged under Article 32.4, 312.1 (Giving a bribe or transferring a bribe to an official).
Operational and investigative measures to identify and bring to justice the other perpetrators continue, the report said. However, it is not clear from the message when, for what, and from whom the judge received the money. -06D-
