Khadija Ismayilova may be arrested for three months
Bailiffs of the Binagadi district have "found" place for the execution of public works by a journalist Khadija Ismayilova.
She offered to clean the Disabled Rehabilitation Center in the District 6. However Ismaylova rejects this, claiming the penalty in the open for the public place "in order to avoid provocations."
She said that the young activist Jamil Hajiyev, who was also sentenced to community service, was beaten in the building of the Binagadi of Housing and Communal Services.
In response, the bailiffs threatened Ismaylova a three-month arrest if she refuses to perform community service.
Earlier, she was handed a sentence of just sweeping the streets. However, after a large group of people expressed readiness together with Ismaylova to sweep the streets, the authorities were afraid that this will turn into political action, and canceled the penalty.
Ismailov was fined 400 manats for participation in a rally of solidarity with the people Ismailly on January 26 in Baku. For this she was fined, but refused to pay. After that, the Binagadi Court commuted fine in the amount of 220 hours on public works. -03B-
