Large Quantities of Drugs Seized in Southern Region
Baku / 10.01.20 / Turan: A resident of the Jalilabad region of the country, Orkhan Vekilzadeh, was detained by police for drug trafficking. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the search in his house 4 kg of heroin and electronic scales were seized.
During the interrogation, the detainee said he had purchased drugs from an Iranian citizen for the purpose of resale. A criminal case has been instituted on the fact, and Vekilzadeh was arrested.
Another large consignment of drugs was discovered and seized by customs officers in the car of an Azerbaijani citizen, Khoshbakht Abdullayev, who was traveling from Iran.
According to the press service of the Customs Committee, when inspecting the car, under the plastic coating of the roof of the car, 6 packets were found with heroin weighing more than 1,100 grams and methamphetamine weighing more than 670 grams.
