Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (MDCOC) detained 8 people suspected of involvement in the illegal trafficking of drugs and weapons
Baku/03.07.23/Turan: Employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (MDCOC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted an operation against members of a criminal group in Azerbaijan supplying drugs from Iran. 17 kg of marijuana and 16 kg of heroin were seized from the detainees Vagif Novruzov, Ismail Piriyev and Ulvi Ibrahimov. Five people suspected of illegal arms trafficking were also detained in Sumgayit, Balakan, Gusar, Sabirabad, and Khachmaz.
Two pistols, 1 rifle, 47 rounds of ammunition and three replacement magazines for cartridges were seized from them.
Criminal cases have been opened on all the facts, an investigation is underway, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen against the detainees by court decisions. ---05d---
