Baku/25.02.22/Turan: Elnur Abbasov, wanted for 24 years, accused of serious crimes, has been extradited to Baku.
The extradition was carried out at the request of the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan in accordance with the Convention on Legal Assistance of 1993.
Abbasov was wanted for premeditated murder, and rape with particular cruelty in 1998, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office said.
In 2017, the Petrogradsky district court in St Petersburg convicted him of another crime committed in Russia.
On 24 February 2022, Abbasov was taken to Azerbaijan from Russia, accompanied by a special convoy of the Ministry of Justice Penitentiary Service.-06B-
