Media Review - 3 September 2018
The successes of official Baku in foreign policy, the growth of the number of illegal buildings, and the Sochi meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Russia are the themes of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the successful and original development of Azerbaijan, which occupies an important place in the world order. Recently, the South Caucasus region is in the focus of attention of global forces and the role of Azerbaijan is growing.
The country has become a geopolitical force at the regional level. The author reminds about visits of the heads of government and foreign countries to Azerbaijan in the past eight months.
The newspaper Novoye Vremya writes about illegal buildings and their demolition. The executive power of Baku has begun dismantling illegal buildings that interfere with the movement of citizens.
Created by the mayoralty of the capital, the working group has conducted raids and uncovered illegal buildings in all districts of the capital.
Work on the dismantling began yesterday morning in the Khatai district, near the Ukrainian circle. "Illegal buildings and fences will be demolished in all districts of Baku."
The website Azadliq.info comments on Ilham Aliyev's visit to Sochi and the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Particularly stressed is Putin's statement that Russia will continue its efforts on the Karabakh settlement. Allegedly, the discussion of the issue was limited to this statement. That is, there was not even a cosmetic gesture or message on the Karabakh issue. This approach on the part of Russia has been going on for 25 years. Russia renders all possible support to Armenia, so that Karabakh remains under occupation. As for the Sochi meeting, no one expected anything from it in connection with Karabakh.
