Assessment of economic indicators in the country for the first half of 2020, the possible consequences of prolonging the quarantine regime, and the attitude of the population to this are the topics of today's media.
The website Müsavat.com is investigating the damage caused to the country by the coronavirus with experts. According to statistics, GDP production in 2020 compared to the same period last year decreased by 2.7%, amounting to 33 billion 803.9 million manat.
For 6 months, the volume of GDP per capita amounted to 3 thousand 393.7 manat, decreasing by 3.4%.
Experts note that half-year indicators were expected. By the end of the year, negative trends will increase.
The Moderator.az website writes that the extension of the quarantine regime can lead to socio-psychological problems. Despite being quarantined, the virus has spread widely. People are tired of living in such conditions, and the aggravation of the situation at the border has been added to this.
The website Yeniavaz.com writes about the extension of the quarantine regime for two weeks. Such a decision announced on July 17 on AzTV was met with dissatisfaction, which was reflected in social networks. The protesters say they are not ready to extend the quarantine regime. People have neither moral nor material strength to stay at home. Over the past 4-5 months there is no progress, they say.
