Media Review - September 3, 2019
Providing social protection, the increasing number of divorces in childless families, and the situation in the judicial system are topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about social reforms, ensuring employment and social protection of the population. Thus, according to the State Statistics Committee, in the first half of this year, 92 thousand new jobs were opened, of which 28.9% were in the non-state sector. Of the new places opened during this period, 43.8% are newly created, 28.5% are already existing, and 0.3% are restored. During the reporting period, 5.6 thousand jobs were closed, of which 41.3% at enterprises and organizations. In the first half of the year, the number of employees amounted to 1,613.7 thousand people. In the economy, the number of public sector employees is 903.4 thousand people, and in the private sector - 710.3 thousand people. The number of pensioners is 1,291.3 thousand people, and 383.6 thousand people are assigned social benefits.
The website Trend.az writes about the growth of divorces in childless families. So, in 2018, 14,857 divorces were registered, 6,559 people divorced on the basis of childlessness. The largest number of child-related divorces occurred in 1990 (8,853 families), and the smallest - in 2002 (3,371 families).
The website Oxu.az writes about the situation in the judicial system, where most unfair decisions are made on civil matters. The website is discussing the issue with the deputy Chingiz Ganizadeh, who claims that personnel changes should be made in the judicial system, since there are a lot of judges who make unfair decisions. The deputy recalled that on April 3 of this year, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree "On the deepening of reforms in the judicial system," which emphasized the need to improve the quality and effectiveness of fair trial. The deputy also recalled that the number of judges was increased by 200 people. -0-
