Ministry of Ecology shifts the blame for the disappeared climbers to the sport club

Baku / 09.01.18 / Turan: For failure to provide the necessary equipment for the missing climbers, the sports club "Gilavar", the members of which are the missing mountaineers, is directly responsible, said at today's briefing in the search area by the Deputy Minister of Ecology and the head of the Federation of Air and Extreme Sports Firdovsi Aliyev.

"The territory where the mountaineers disappeared belongs to the Shahdag National Park. Permission to enter the national park is given only in connection with the protection of flora and fauna. The Federation of Air and Extreme Sports or the Ministry of Ecology has no obligation to provide them with the necessary equipment. Over the past 10 years more than 400 mountaineers have been granted permits to climb mountains. This is the first accident, "Aliyev justified himself.

"The search for climbers will continue until they are found," in turn, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Faig Tagizade said. According to him, only professionals should take part in the search. About the missing alpinists he said that the climbers "had to walk along the easiest route - 1B of difficulty, but they changed the route," he said, without specifying how exactly the alpinists went.

According to him, the search for the proposed territory did not yield any results. "Territory is checked, there climbers are not found," Taghizadeh said.

In turn, a representative of the mountain rescue police of the Austrian Ministry of Internal Affairs Adolf Herrer, invited to rescue work, said that if there were search beacons on the climbers, it would be easier to find them.

According to him, on the territory of the loss of climbers the search is very dangerous due to the danger of avalanches and bad weather. Further, he said that it is possible to guess in what direction the alpinists went, for they changed the route because of the weather conditions.

Commenting on these statements, one of the mountaineering veterans of the country, who wished to remain anonymous, noted that the words of Firdovsi Aliyev speak of a complete lack of understanding of the rules of mountaineering.

"Yes, the Ministry of Ecology and Fairex may not be required to provide equipment to climbers. The Gilavar sports club is a member of Fairex, and any serious climbing organization is responsible for the sports performances of its members. Climbing in winter is a rare exception. And if the federation looks at it through fingers, then the tragedy is inevitable.

Being the head of Fairex, Firdovsi Aliyev was obliged to inform, who issued an unprepared triple to the route? Why did from these three, only experienced Namin Bunyatov had good equipment? Why does Fairex, claiming to lead mountaineering in the country, have not yet created a mine rescue service?

This is only a small part of the questions. Apparently, those responsible for the tragedy will try to blame the alpinists themselves and the Gilavar club, but this will be unfair, "said the mountaineering veteran.

* On December 23, 2017, the members of the Gilavar sports club - Babur Huseynov (born in 1990), Namin Bunyatov (born in 1983) and Farida Jabrailzade (missing in the "Shahdag" National Park) disappeared on Mount Tfandag located in the Shahdag National Park area 1991 of the river).

According to some information, searches for mountaineers began only on December 27 by the forces of the Ministry for Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Ecology and experienced climbers.

On January 6, in connection with the loss of climbers, a criminal case was initiated on
