Ministry of Health: Causes of Poisoning of Children in Sumgait to Be Known Today
Baku / 12.06.17 / Turan: Fifty children from 119 poisoned in Sumgait last week are still in hospitals. Their treatment continues, the head of the press service of the Ministry of Health, Leah Bayramova said.
The children were hospitalized with vomiting, diarrhea and fever. According to Bayramova, the causes of the poisoning will be known after identifying the results of the lab study.
Last week 119 children aged 2-7 years entered the Sumgait Children"s Hospital with signs of poisoning.
They are mostly children from Sumgait and the villages of Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, Jeyranbatan, Novkhany and Saray. Local residents believe that children got poisoned from drinkable water. However, Azersu JSC refutes this. -06D--
