Musavat Activist Released from Police

The advisor to the head of the party Musavat Mardan Mehdi detained by the Siyazan district police on 16 January was released the same night.

No charges were nominated against him, but he was obliged not to leave the country.

On January 12 in Lankaran, Siyazan, Agjabedi, Fizuli, Guba and Agsu there was a wave of spontaneous protests against the increase in prices after the devaluation of the manat.

The authorities are trying to blame the opposition for the protests. They administratively arrested at least five activists of PFPA and three of Musavat. -06D--
