Head of State Increases Pensions for Certain Groups by 10%
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a number of orders in the field of social protection of the individual groups on January 16.
In particular, the head of state raised the amount of the basic part of old-age pensions by ten percent and from February 1, 2016 it will be 110 manat.
In addition, from 1 February the presidential pension for the families of martyrs will increase by 10%. After the increase, it will be 220 manat.
Also by 10 per cent will increase the presidential pension for persons who became disabled as a result of the events of January 20, 1990.
New dimensions of these benefits will be: the disabled group I - 165 manat, the disabled group II - 143 manat, and the disabled group III - 110 manat.
The monthly allowance for food expenses of IDPs will also increase by 10%.
After December 21 CBA released manat into "free floating," reducing its rate against the dollar immediately by 48 percent. Many foods and consumer goods went up by 20-30 per cent, while drugs and medicines increased 50%.
