Musavat Activists Summoned to Police
Baku / 07.31.19 / Turan: The chairman of the Narimanov district organization of the Musavat party, Namig Niftiyev, was summoned for a "preventive conversation" to the police. He told Turan himself about this. In particular, he was summoned to the 18th police precinct of the Narimanov district police department.
The activist believes that the call was connected with the participation of Niftiyev in a protest rally in support of the rights of Musavat member Azad Hasanov on July 29.
"I was detained during the action. Apparently, the information was sent to the police at the place of residence, as I understood from the content of the conversation," said Niftiyev.
He was warned, saying: "Be smarter, otherwise we will send you to rest."
In the 18th precinct, they denied the information about the calling of a citizen by the name of Niftiyev.
Bakykhan Gharibli, the chairman of the Sheki district organization of Musavat, was also summoned to the police. The local police told him that the call was connected with the complaint of a certain citizen whom he allegedly threatened.
"I wrote an explanatory note that this is not true and they let me go. But they said that tomorrow it is necessary to come again on the complaint of another citizen," Garibli said to Turan.
It was not possible to get comments in the Sheki police. -21C-
