New People Join Hunger Strike in Support of Mehman Huseynov
Baku / 01/15/19/ Turan: Two participants in the hunger strike in support of blogger Mehman Huseynov refused to take water, going on a dry hunger strike. These are Tofik Yagublu (fasting since January 4) and Natig Israfilov (fasting since January 9).
Currently, in the action held in the office of the Musavat party, in addition to Yagublu and Israfilov, there are: Sanubar Heydarova, Shamil Nasirli and Natig Abdullayev.
At the same time, the Deputy Chairman of the Musavat party, Tofig Yagublu, appealed to the citizens of the country to actively participate in the protest rally of the National Council, appointed on January 19.
Today, investigative journalist Khadija Ismayilova joined the hunger strike. "I demand the release of political prisoners, against whom new criminal cases were falsified on the eve of the completion of their prison term, in general, all political prisoners, as well as all those convicted for exercising their right to freedom of expression," she told Turan.
Recall that the hunger strike of solidarity with blogger Mehman Huseynov began after he himself declared a hunger strike in prison on December 26 in protest against the initiation of a new criminal case against him for "attacking" a warden. -05C06-
