New Specialties for Applicants� Choice
Baku / 22.02.18 / Turan: The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan has made changes in the rules for admission of students to the country's higher educational institutions on the basis of the proposals of the State Examination Center (SEC). According to the new normative document, entrance examinations for I-IV specialty groups for all entrants, irrespective of when they graduate from general education institutions, will be held every year in the format of spring and summer sessions.
This format for testing entrants to universities was tested last year and showed its effectiveness. A two-stage model of admission examinations allows applicants to improve their indicators for participation in the competition for choosing specialties.
There are other innovations regarding the list of specialties (specializations) in the Bachelor's degree of higher education. So, according to Group I, the specialties Information Technologies, System Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Logistics and Engineering of Transport Technologies have been included in the list.
In addition, the Cabinet has amended the Classification of Specialties (Specializations) for the Master's Degree of Higher Education. In the section Humanitarian and Social Specialties the following specialties were created in the Master's program: Administrative Law, Administrative Process, Economic and Financial Law, Medical Law, Intellectual Property Law, Labor Law: Social Security Law, Sport Law and Tourism Law.
Bachelors in Culture and Art will be also able to receive Master"s degrees in such new directions as Political Management of Sustainable Development, Human Potential in Sustainable Development, Sustainable Development Planning, Sustainable Human Development and Management of Natural Resources in Sustainable Development. The section Group of Natural Specialties has been added the specialty Cosmology, and the section Group of Specialties on Health, Welfare and Services has been added the specialty Work with Youth.
Recall that the receipt of documents for participation in the examination campaign will begin on March 29 and continue until April 30. According to the information of the SEC press service, on May 13 the first (spring) examination will be held for the II and III groups of specialties, and on May 20 it will be held for the I and IV groups. At the summer stage of testing, testing for the I and IV groups of specialties will be held on July 18, and testing for the II and III groups will be held on July 26.-0-
