Baku / 22.11.19 / Turan: The treatment of the human rights activist Ogtay Gyulalyev continues, no progress has been made yet, and he is in a coma, the activist’s spouse Firuza Gyulalyeva said on November 22.
Doctors continue to fight the infection in the blood and lungs of the human rights defender.
“At the same time, treatment is underway to remove Ogtay from a coma. Today, doctors plan to remove the catheter installed after the operation on November 20,” Gyulalyeva said.
* The human rights activist was hit by a car in the center of Baku on October 29. Relatives and colleagues regarded the traffic accident as a deliberate attack on the human rights activist.
He was operated on in Baku in a private clinic with a significant delay, which complicated the already serious condition. Three days later, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation took care of Gyulalyev’s treatment, sending him to the Istanbul clinic Avrasia. However, in this clinic the treatment was ineffective and at the request of his wife on November 19, Gyulalyev was transferred to the American Clinic, where the next day he underwent a second neurosurgical operation. -05B-
