Ogtay Gyulalyev Made New Operation
Baku / 26.06.20 / Turan: Another operation was performed on the human rights activist Ogtay Gyulalyev at a medical clinic in Istanbul on June 25.
According to his wife Firuza Gyulaliyeva, during a previous operation in this clinic in December 2019, part of the human rights defender's cranial bone was removed. Artificial material was put in its place. During yesterday's operation, the bone was returned to its place. The operation was successful and the human rights activist has already been transferred from intensive care to a regular ward.
According to his wife, Ogtay Gyulalyev never regained full consciousness, although he moves his hands and reacts to what is happening around. Doctors hope that after the current operation, his condition will improve.
Recall that Gyulalyev has already undergone several brain operations, the first of which was done in Baku last October the day after the car hit him.
After his condition got worse, the human rights activist was transported by special aircraft to Istanbul, where he underwent two more operations in different clinics.
Treatment in Turkey is funded by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Meanwhile, the investigation into the accident case, despite the expiration of almost 8 months, is still not completed. –06D-
