Over 10,000 people fined in Azerbaijan for throwing cigarette butts in unauthorized places
Baku/22.11.22/Turan: Since the beginning of this year, over 10,000 people have been fined in Azerbaijan for throwing cigarette butts in unauthorized places, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
The fines were imposed as part of the activities carried out by the city, district police bodies of Azerbaijan in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which provide for liability for smoking tobacco in places prohibited by the Law on Restricting the Use of Tobacco Products.
Thus, administrative penalties were applied to 10,835 people for the release of tobacco product waste into the environment.
Another 501 individuals were fined for selling tobacco products to minors.
The total amount of fines imposed under these measures amounted to 383,300 manat, the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted. ---06B---

Today, on September 26, a meeting is expected in New York between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia regarding peace negotiations. The meeting is set to take place with the participation of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The Secretary will bring the ministers together at a hotel in New York as part of the annual session of the UN General Assembly. This will be Blinken's second trilateral meeting with them on U.S. soil within three months. The last time the three diplomats met was during the NATO summit in Washington on July 10 of this year.
