Over Night More than the Monthly Precipitation Fell
On the night of 23 and 24 April, Baku and the Absheron peninsula experienced intense showers and thunderstorms. An unstable weather front had advancet from the north.
According to weather forecasters, most of the rain fell in Sumgait amounting to 30 mm or 130% of the monthly norm. In Baku, the rainfall was 26 mm or 113% of the monthly norm.
In the regions, most precipitation fell in Guba with 37 mm, 77% of the norm. The showers caused a raise in mountain rivers.
In Baku, intense rains damaged roads and basements.
