Parents of killed soldiers appeal to Ilham Aliyev
Baku/27.02.14/Turan : A group of parents whose sons were killed in the army in the last period , held a press conference today at the press center IRFS. They stated that they appeal to the head of state, so that he receive them. The purpose of the meeting is to obtain a fair investigation of causes of their children’s in non combat situation. The parents also called the head of state to take measures to stop soldiers’ death, and ensure civilian control over the army.
Bayaly Azizov, Selbi Novruzova and Kifayet Iskenderova stated that the investigation into their children’s deaths were biased . "The investigation was not interested in establishing the truth and identifying the perpetrators. Fort everything ordinary fellow officers were blamed, so that officers could avoid responsibility," said Bayaly Azizov.
Last year the number of soldiers died in the army and other security agencies was more than 90 people.
This year, the number of deaths reached two dozen. -05C-
