Parviz Hashimli imprisoned in solitary confinement
Contained in a Baku prison, the journalist Parviz Hashimli has been imprisoned in solitary confinement, said his lawyer Elchin Sadigov. The reason for this punishment was Hashimli’s press interview, the lawyer said, noting that the formal decision to place him in solitary confinement has not been submitted.
In turn, the press service of the Prison Service told Turan that putting Hashimli in solitary confinement was due to the fact that he had violated the internal rules of the detention center and refused to comply with the legitimate demands of the administration.
Recall that the columnist for Bizim Yol was convicted on May 15 of this year to 8 years in prison on charges of arms trafficking.
According to the journalist, he was punished for he refused to criticize the leadership of the Popular Front, which he is a member of. -16D-
