Baku/12.11.21/Turan: It is reported that the Pfizer vaccine against coronavirus has expired in some clinics in Baku, but it has not yet been withdrawn from circulation.

A person who wished to remain anonymous told Turan that in early November he went to the Leila Shikhlinskaya Clinic for vaccination with the Pfizer. “I was told at the clinic that the term of vaccine had already expired, but the doctor said she had extended the validity by 3 months. I was also asked to sign my consent to be vaccinated. It is said that the same is observed at the Caspian International Clinic.

Citizens are advised that the World Health Organization has sent letters to the relevant agencies to prolong the term of vaccine in  countries using the Pfizer/BioNTech drug in the COVID-19 vaccine, based on feedback from the European Pharmaceutical Agency and the US Food and Drug Administration.

According to the letter, the validity period of the Pfizer/BioNTech drug has been extended from 6 to 9 months. In this regard, the validity period of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, which is currently used in our country, expires on December 31, 2021.

In this regard, the Ministry of Health told Turan that they do not have such facts.

It was not possible to find out the attitude of TƏBİB to this issue. — 0—
