PFPA Activists Detained at Funeral Ceremony of Gezal Bayramli
Baku / 08.10.20 / Turan: Several activists of the Popular Front Party and the National Council participating in the funeral of Deputy Chairman of the Popular Front Party, Gezal Bayramli, were detained today.
As Turan was told in the PFPA, among the detained are the head of the Coordination Center of the National Council Vidadi Mirkamal, blogger Fatima Movlamli, deputy chairman of the PFPA Seymour Hazi and others.
Seymour Hazi was later released. The authorities did not provide an explanation for their actions.
The deputy chairman of the Popular Front Party, Gezal Bayramli, died on October 7 after a long illness. She was one of the most prominent female opposition politicians in Azerbaijan in recent times and survived the fate of a political prisoner. — 06D-
