Police Disperse Action of Relatives of Political Prisoners
Baku / 15.06.18 / Turan: A group of family members of political prisoners, mostly women, today held a march in the center of Baku, wearing t-shirts with portraits of their arrested children and husbands.
The aim of the action was to show that there cannot be any national salvation while the people were illegally imprisoned.
Participants in the action began a march in the Sabir public garden, and when they reached Nizami Street, they were stopped by the police, stating the illegality of the action.
Then they were all forcibly put in police cars and taken to the 9th police department of the Sabail district. After their personal data were taken, everyone was "generously" released some time later. The police said it was thanks to the holiday.
When the women passed the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they were stopped again. After that, the police began to accompany the women until they parted. -06D--
