Press Review - 5 February 2018
Projects of social well-being, delay of economic development are the leading topics of today's press.
The newspaper Azerbaijan published an article on social well-being and economic development. The author writes about the situation with the implementation of social projects and quotes Ilham Aliyev that the number of families receiving targeted social assistance is 116 thousand, which means more than 400 thousand people. On average, each family receives 150 manat of social assistance.
The author also speaks about the opening of new jobs, gives statistics on which, as of January 1, 2018, the economically active population in the country totals 5 million 73,8 thousand people, of which 4 million 822,100 are employed.
The website Azadliqinfo.az writes about the lack of system in the delivery of state awards, which are issued only for serving the ruling regime.
Such distribution of medals and orders completely discredits the essence of the awards themselves.
The newspaper Novoye Vremya writes about the problem of monopolism in the economy.
In Azerbaijan monopolists are backed by high-ranking officials and everyone knows which of the officials controls exports, imports of certain goods, who establish prices for goods and services.
Maybe that's why antimonopoly services are not able to end monopolists. -0--
