The Azpolitika.info website comments on the extraordinary congress of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, which starts today. The lack of official information about the congress is strange. So, many deputies from the ruling party do not have information about this.

All those invited to the congress must pass a coronavirus test, and President Ilham Aliyev is also expected to attend. The reason for the secrecy is connected with the fact that at the congress there will be a change in the leadership of the party.

The website Modern.az writes about the reasons forcing citizens to apply to the courts. To a greater extent, people turn to in connection with the violation of the rights to retirement and social security. According to the 2020 report of the Supreme Court, the number of cases involving the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population in administrative disputes was 45.7%.

That is, out of 2236 cases considered in total, 1022 cases concerned the aforementioned ministry.

3928 cases of registration of rights in the state register of real estate and land disputes were also noted, which is 24%.

1896 cases of conferring the title and certificate of a war veteran accounted for 11.6%.

The website Bizimyol.info.az writes about the expectations of a pardon decree on the occasion of Novruz holiday. According to the pardon commission, about 500 appeals were considered at five sessions. When making a decision on each appeal, the interests of the state and society were taken into account without fail, criteria such as age, health, marital status were taken into account, material damage was compensated or not, if any.

The author recalls that as a result of the decree signed on March 16, 2019, 432 people were pardoned, and by the decree of April 2020, in connection with the pandemic, 176 convicts over 65 were pardoned.

Human rights activists appealed to the authorities on February 15 with a request to release 110 political prisoners.     –0-----
