Press Review - January 30, 2018
The role of entrepreneurs in the development of the economy, the deposits of the population that remain in banks and the view on the 100th anniversary of the ANR are the leading topics of today's press.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the role of entrepreneurs in the development of the country's economy. According to statistics, in 2017 the share of the private sector in industry was 80%.
Last year, the National Entrepreneurship Support Fund issued preferential loans in the amount of 146 million manat to finance more than 1950 projects, the total cost of which is 635.6 million manat.
This allowed entrepreneurs to expand their business and open 6,600 new jobs. 65% of soft loans are allocated to regions, and 35% to entrepreneurs from neighboring villages of Baku.
The newspaper Echo published an article titled Azerbaijanis Afraid to Demand Their Money from Banks. Today, in closed banks of Azerbaijan, some citizens have deposits on huge amounts, but they are afraid to demand them back, because those sums had been gained in unlawful ways.
That is why Azerbaijan needs the law On Amnesty of Capital, which guarantees security in the return of capital, subject to transferring 10% of this amount to the state.
The website Azadliqinfo.az comments on the decree signed by the head of state on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the ANR, calling it a step to prolong the political life of the current government.
Since 25 years of rule, the current government could celebrate the 80th anniversary or the 90th anniversary of the ANR, but did nothing.
The current authorities, the author believes, want to show themselves as people's authorities, trying to give their government a national shade. -0---
