The role of Azerbaijan in the world oil market, the problem of harvesting, and aggressive moods in the society are the leading topics of today's press.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the role of the country in the world oil market. The author evaluates this factor on the basis of the speech of the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov at the VII International Workshop of OPEC in Vienna.
Shahbazov suggested that alternative energy sources would not be able to replace oil. He promised difficulties in connection with the decline in oil production and the restriction of its export to world markets. In the long term, the global need will not be met, Shahbazov said.
He also stated the need to continue cooperation in the format of OPEC + to attract investment and ensure market stability.
The Yeni Musavat newspaper writes about the depressing situation in the grain fields due to the lack of combine harvesters. The harvesting process is slowed not only by unstable weather, but also by the lack of combine harvesters, especially in Goychay, Barda, Agjabadi, Terter, Zardab and other areas.
But a representative of OJSC Agroleasing Israfil Ismayilov denies this. According to him, to date, there are 2,700 combine harvesters in the country, and 2,400 of them are used. However, 52% of the combine harvesters available in Agroleasing have completed their operational period.
The website Lent.az writes about the absence of love in the society, the attempt on the personal life of people, a rape in Lerik, and poisoning in cotton fields. The article talks about the chaotic mood and mass psychosis. An example of this was the recent conflict of a girl wearing shorts with other passengers in the Baku subway. All this became a manifestation of the absence of love and mutual respect in the society.

The closure of Azerbaijan's land borders was discussed during the parliamentary session on November 25. While the government’s decision cites the coronavirus pandemic as the main reason—despite the World Health Organization declaring its end last year—Zahid Oruj, Chair of the Human Rights Committee in the Milli Majlis, pointed to other factors. He stated, "Opening the borders could result in an influx of hundreds of thousands of non-Azerbaijani refugees due to the Russia-Ukraine war. Additionally, in Iran, many are prepared to cross into Azerbaijan to safeguard their lives and assets amid military strikes. Such waves of refugees could lead to humanitarian, social, and cultural clashes that may threaten political stability."
