PROTEST ACTION IN FRONT OF AZERI EMBASSY IN WASHINGTON
Protestors voiced a number of slogans such as `Freedom of speech, freedom of assembly`, `free Adnan and Emin`, `freedom to imprisoned journalists`, etc.
Some of the protestors even had donkey masks on for showing the reason of the arrest of bloggers. `The reality is that the government in Azerbaijan is not an all-powerful force. The arrest and persecution of Adnan and Emin and other journalists and activists, those who publicly challenge the government"s policies and expose to the world the corruption within it, is in itself the best evidence of the regime"s fears about thepeople in Azerbaijan speaking up and its image being exposed internationally` - they said.
A few representatives of international organizations and Richmond University employees (Adnan used to study in that University) were among participants of the rally.
Reporters Without Borders" US representative Clothilde Le Coz read a statement from the name of her organization demanding freedom for imprisoned journalists in Azerbaijan, including Adnan and Emin.
Many of the protesters said they were not only there for the bloggers, cause, but also to promote human rights and free speech in the country.
After the rally, protesters gave a letter intended for the ambassador Yashar Aliyev to express their concerns of the recent events. --

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
