Baku/01.05.14/Turan : Police took heightened security measures in connection with the next hearing on the case of NIDA activists, which was planned on Thursday with the final word of the accused.
The courthouse was cordoned off around the perimeter, but many people came to the building before. Another part of the citizens gathered in front of the courthouse.
Despite the increased public interest in the trial, the administration of the court took no action to let a large number of people attend the trial. Many journalists were not let into the room.
Bailiffs stated that there were no seats in the hall, and on the willingness of the journalists to sit on the floor the police officer replied that "we are not in the 15th century." Well, if so, then provide audio broadcasting - on this proposal of a journalist the bailiff stated that "there is no possibility to do so."
Later, the journalists were forced out of the stairs of the court. Particularly zealous was a burly with a captain rank, who did not hesitate to push even female journalists rudely.
The people standing on the street knew about the start of the hearing by applause coming out of the open windows on the second floor. The street continued the applause and the wave came to the area in front of the court, where about 100 people gathered. The spontaneous action lasted for 10-15 minutes and the police could not do anything. Then they got an order on the radio to "stifle the applause" and demanded "standing quietly."
At the court hearing Rashadat Akhundov spoke on behalf of all the defendants with concluding remarks, denying all the charges and calling them politically motivated. The judge announced the sentencing on May 6.
Earlier, the prosecutor offered to condemn 8 NIDA activists to prison terms ranging from 6.5 to 8.5 years. They are accused of planning riots during a protest of March 10, 2013 against the soldiers' deaths. Amnesty International recognized all the accused " prisoners of conscience" . -06C –

Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
