Raider attempt to capture a steel plant
Baku/16.05.14/Turan : Today a group of people paralyzed the activity of a metallurgical enterprise "Atahan Dəmir Sənaye", which started its activity after a two-year break, said on his Facebook page a company co-founder , former deputy of the Milli Majlis, Nazim Mamedov.
Three people arrived to the enterprise , and forced by threats to stop work . The owners of the enterprise called 20 police officers, but did not intervene, and were idly watching what was happening, even when the attackers forcibly took away the phone from Mamedov.
According to the victim , just like in summer 2012 , the attackers are members of the "group of racketeers" by Rasim Mammadov, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LLC "Baku Steel Company".
In August 2012 the management of LLC "Baku Steel Company" attacked almost 20 metallurgical enterprises in Baku, and suspended their activities. These actions were widely publicized in the press, but lawsuits on the facts were not filed. Thereby "Baku Steel Company" established a complete monopoly on the production of construction fittings and other metal products. Behind it is one of the most powerful factions in the government, which even tried to seize Dashkesen iron ore deposit owned by another influential group. The president of the country had to intervene, and transferred the control over the mine to the Cabinet of Ministers.
Complaints on today’s attack were sent to the department N5 in the police department of Binagadi district of Baku. On Monday, Nazim Mamedov will hold a press-conference. -08D-
