Court of Appeal remains Bananyarly and Abbasli in custody
Baku Appeals Court today rejected the appeals of PFPA activist Kamala Bananyarly and the adviser of the head of "Musavat" Turala Abbasli, arrested for 30 and 15 days for taking part in the action against the sentence activists NIDA. According to Turan lawyer, Asabali Mustafayev, the court did not took into consideration the complaint of Bananyarly of torture in Nasimi district police.
According to him, the activist’s health is still serious, and she is not provided effective medical care. The lawyer believes that Bananyarly probably suffered a concussion during the beating, and treatment in prison is impossible. Five people were arrested only for participating in a protest against the conviction of activists of NIDA on May 6. —06B-
