The law enforcement agencies continue to play a silence about the arrests of high-ranking officials. At the same time, they make leaks to the press about the latest arrest of one or another official.
For example, yesterday the pro-government media got information about the arrest of Gambar Beybalayev, head of Azeripocht, division of the Ministry of Communications. The arrest was made by the Office of the Prosecutor General to Combat Corruption. The reason for his arrest and the charges against him are not known.
Turan's attempts to get a comment or an official confirmation or refutation from the press service of the prosecutor's office failed.
At the same time, nobody denied the news on the arrest of the official, which was not the first one in the past week.
To understand the logic of the authorities is difficult: in fact such publications are fundamentally contrary to the law on mass media and journalistic ethics, as authorities routinely blame the media for publishing unverified information and hearsay. At the same time, they are silent about the dozens of reports of mass arrests and dismissals of senior government officials.
Apparently, "secret arrests" are a new style that will be used in the near future. -02B-
