Seven People Continue Hunger Strike at Musavat Headquarters
Baku / 09.01.19 / Turan: A hunger strike continues in the headquarters of the Musavat party, demanding "Freedom to Mehman Huseynov and all other political prisoners!"
According to the participant of the action, the Board member of the Musavat party, Tofig Yagublu, two of the starving people, Fatima Movlamly and Leyla Babayeva, have problems.
"There are serious risks to their health. They are very weak, and their faces are pale.
We persuaded them to stop the hunger strike," Yagublu said.
According to him, Tofig Mammadov also has serious problems; he has been starving since January 3. "The hunger strike had a strong effect on his body. We will also ask him to stop the action," continued Yagublu.
According to him, there are many people willing to join the hunger strike. However, due to space limitations, they are recommended to abstain for the time being.
Today, in addition to Yagublu himself, six more people are participating in the rally: Elshad Israfilov, Yashar Ferazi, Fuad Rahimli, Mubariz Fatullayev and Rovshan Niftalizadeh.
The health of the participants is watched by doctors being friends of theirs. The authorities have not yet expressed their attitude towards the hunger strike.
The action is held in solidarity with blogger M. Huseynov, who went on a hunger strike as early as December 26 in protest against bringing him a new criminal charge. -05D06--
